Afraid To Start? (Part II)

When God speaks to you, He may not give you all the information. There is a reason for it. When He called Abraham to take Isaac to be sacrificed, He did not name the mountain, nor did He say how far it was — He just told Abraham that He would show him the mountain. Abraham arose the next morning, saddled his donkey, gathered wood for the offering, and started out. He traveled for three days just trusting God. He didn't wait for clarity. He didn't demand the whole plan before taking the first step. He just obeyed what he knew on that day, and trusted God with what he'd need the next day. That's the kind of faith we must have. Abraham trusted that the mountain would be shown to him, and it was. He just had to get started, and he did so without fear. The journey was not mapped out for him, but he had the faith to get started. You know the rest of the story — God provided, and his son lived, after he was ready to sacrifice everything for what God told him to do. What is God telling you to do? Whatever it is, get started. Your outcome will be a testimony for generations to come. Amen.

Hebrews 11:17-19 — "By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, 'It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.' Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death."
