Out Of The Darkness

Every person will experience dark times. The dark times are difficult, sometimes so difficult that you want no one else to know what you are struggling with. Not being able to pay your bills, struggling with addiction, losing faith in God, experiencing violence in relationships, and experiencing extreme loneliness — all of these represent dark times. Consider that in the first chapter of Genesis, God's first vocal commandment was "let there be light." He spoke to darkness and changed it. When you experience darkness, remember that God brings light to dark places and dark spaces. Call on Him first and come out of your darkness. There is no situation that the proper amount of light cannot fix. Jesus said in the Book of John that He was the "light of the world." Therefore, with Him, there is no need to be in darkness — just call His name.

Genesis 1:3-5 — "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning, the first day."
