The Patience Love Requires

When Jacob met Rachel it was almost like love at first sight. He wanted her so much that he agreed to work for seven years for her father Laban. Laban was a trickster and sent Leah to him on his wedding night, and Jacob ended up with her. To make a long story short, Jacob agreed to work another seven years for Rachel. Though you can read the full story for yourselves, what is important in this story is the fact that love often causes us to do things that others may not understand. Love can be frustrating and may require us to wait longer than we ever planned. Love also requires unusual patience. It may not be the love of a lifetime — it may be a son, daughter, brother, sister, or friend that we love who frustrates us or requires great patience. In the end, keep the faith and know that God is able to handle even the most frustrating situations.

1 Corinthians 13:4 — "Love is patient, love is kind."
